Promos That Educate Your Customers

At its core, marketing is about educating customers and potential customers about a brand and products. People need to understand what your client’s company is all about before they can fall in love with it. An online promotion can teach entrants about the brand as it entertains and engages. Here are some thoughts you may have not considered on leveraging your promotion to enlighten your customers.

Losers – Every losing game play – and let’s face it, that’s most of them – can be used to give the entrant a little snippet about the brand. “Sorry you lost, but did you know…” is a great way to get an important “sound bite” out there. Introducing a new product? Tout it on all the losing game plays of a promotion.

Thank You Page – Another great opportunity is the thank you page and email. For example, this page might be used to download a recipe or other bit of content that utilizes your product in a way that customers might not have thought of. (Shameless Plug: RSP’s Promotion Engine has a built in feature to randomize this kind of digital content both on the site and via a “Thanks for Playing” email).

Surveys – There’s no better way to get thousands of responses to a 10-question survey than to ask two questions to every fifth participant! By enticing them to answer your short survey with extra entries, contestants will play more often and will be more likely to give accurate answers. (Yes! Our Promotion Engine does this too!)

Adding Coupons To Your Promo

There are various ways of incorporating coupons into your next online promotion. First, coupons can be a great “thanks for playing” incentive – you can send an email to everyone who enters with a percentage off coupon.

Responsive vs Adaptive

Responsive? Adaptive? What are you crazy geeks talking about?
There is a method in website design and development called “Responsive Design”. What this means is that the content will shrink down in a clean way to fit on a phone. This works great most of the time. However, there is another method called “Adaptive Design”.

The Importance of Activation

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it… Well, if a promotion lands on the internet and no one is told it is there, then it most certainly won’t make a sound. We in the industry call this “activation”, and it simply means getting the word out about a promotion.
